Mother's Day

My very first Mother's Day was everything I could have hoped for. Here's the play by play..

I woke up to this little guy sitting patiently on our bed.
Jakob and Calvin served me breakfast in bed  (mimosas and homemade Belgian waffles in case you were wondering- those boys are quite fancy!) We lounged around and played with the little guy until church.
After church, I had a quick photo shoot with the one who made me a mama. Sweet little guy slept through the whole thing.
We spent the afternoon shopping for flowers and setting up our patio. With a little help from Grandma Sali, we now have a beautiful patio full of greens (and yellows and oranges).
We set up our swing and gave Calvin his first ride. He absolutely LOVED it. He can look forward to countless hours this summer lounging in his swing as we barbecue and hang out on the patio.
Just as the sun was setting, we took a walk with Jakob's family to get some ice cream. There's really nothing better than a giant scoop of melty Moose Tracks on a warm spring night. After our sticky ice cream, Calvin and Sawyer took a bath. These two boys are so cute together. They may look innocent now but I'm sure they will be up to trouble in no time.
It was a perfect first Mother's Day.

Motherhood. It's incredible how fast your heart grows. Love so instant and overwhelming it hurts. Being a mother is such a blessing and something I will never take for granted. It's been an amazing four months and I know it will only get better as my heart continues to grow more and more in love with my son.

I feel incredibly privileged to be Calvin's mom and pray that I can grow to follow in the footsteps of our own Mothers, women who really know how to love.

I can only hope that Calvin grows to love his mama as much as we love ours.
