Christmas Card Outtakes

My mom was sweet enough to act as our official Christmas photo photographer this year. We picked a nice day in late October and headed down to the lakefront in an attempt to get a few family photos. We did manage to get a few winners but let's be honest, the outtakes are much more entertaining.

And now for a few keepers..

And of course we couldn't leave the new guy out so here he and I are at 30 weeks.

Things are looking quite different now at 37 weeks. We have big plans to officially get our house and lives ready for baby #2 this weekend. Knowing that he could arrive any day now is so exciting and only a little overwhelming. Okay, maybe a lot overwhelming- I still have about 27 things to check off my list before he arrives. Babies don't need diapers, right? If he could stay put through Christmas and his big brother's 2nd birthday (December 29th) that would be great. If not, we will happily welcome our new holiday addition and scramble for diapers on the way home from the hospital!

This crazy summer is getting the best of me. Quiet evenings at home with nothing better to do but blog and catch up on old TV shows is a thing of the past. To make up for it, I thought I would catch up a bit with a few random photos from our summer thus far.

Family Photos

Last month, we enjoyed a family photo shoot with our sister Rebecca. We wandered around our neighborhood and enjoyed some family time at the park with Calvin as she captured our time together.

I cannot gush enough about how much we love these photos and how thankful we are to have these special moments frozen in time. I look forward to the day when we will look back and smile as we flip through photos of our little family and 6 month old son just as we were in the summer of 2012.

Sweet Calvin

Calvin's Aunt Rebecca was sweet enough to photograph him in the hospital at 1 day old and again at our home when he was just 5 days old. Can you say spoiled??

I know we will always cherish having these photos of our newborn baby in his sleepiest, scrawniest of days before he quickly grows up overnight and becomes a chunky active baby boy! Here are a few of our favorite photos that Rebecca so beautifully captured for us...

I know I'm biased but I really do think he is the most beautiful baby on the planet!

I cannot say enough about how fun it was to spend an entire afternoon working with Rebecca and gushing over sweet Calvin. She is an incredible photographer and we are beyond blessed to have her snapping her camera and preserving these special moments for us. Maternity Photos

A few weeks ago we had some maternity/holiday photos taken. We ran all over chilly Chicago with the lovely Lisa Anderson in hopes of capturing a glimpse of this unique time in our lives. I think she did an amazing job. Here's a peek at a few of our favorites.
