Peanut Butter Blossoms

I would like to introduce you to the most petite chef on the Nutmeg staff- Meet Sawyer! (FYI: Nutmeg is the name of my future *imaginary* bakery. Currently, it is the name of my sweet Ashland kitchen.) Sawyer and I have two things in common, our love for baking and our love for all things Christmas. Check out his sweet little candy cane socks!! A man who loves the kitchen and the holidays, what more could I ask for?!
My elf assistant is getting hungry!! Let's get this party started!
As always, the players...
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 3/4 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1 pkg chocolate kisses

Directions

1. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Cream butter, peanut butter and sugars. Mix in egg. Add flour sifted with baking soda and salt. Add vanilla. Mix until soft dough forms. (Eat a large portion of the dough now- you will thank me!)
2. Shape into 1 inch balls and roll in sugar.
3. Line up nice and perfect on cookie sheet. Bake for 8 minutes.
4. While baking, unwrap your chocolate kisses.
5. Remove your half baked cookies from the oven and press a chocolate kiss into each cookie. Place back in oven for an additional 3-5 minutes until golden brown.
6. Enjoy hot and melty right out of the oven!
So good even Santa will be impressed!!
As for my cheery elf assistant, we can only assume these will someday be one of his favorites too! I mean look at that yummy grin!!

  1. LOVE your bakery name and the Staff there at Nutmeg Bakery! You have the cutest little baking assistant, and I'm jealous for both him AND your baking skills. Looks like fun in the kitchen with one Jessica Ondrey!
